    2015 Implementation Progress
    • 『Fiscal Year 2014 Gender-Sensitive Statement of Accounts』 has been drawn up and submitted to the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea (In May)
    2014 Implementation Progress
    • 『2015 Gender Budget Statement』, 『2015 Gender-Sensitive Fund Operating Plan』 for 343 projects of 42 agencies have been drawn up and submitted to the National Assembly
    • For 『2015 Gender Budget Statement』, we developed a checklist for choosing target projects, thus encouraging central government offices to actively search for target projects and made improvements in the drafting guidelines so that ‘13 Gender-sensitive statement of accounts would reflect evaluation results
    • 『Fiscal Year 2013 Gender-Sensitive Statement of Accounts』 has been drawn up and submitted to the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea
    2013 Implementation Progress
    • 『2014 Gender Budget Statement』, 『2014 Gender-Sensitive Fund Operating Plan』 have been drawn up for 339 projects of 42 agencies and submitted to the National Assembly
    • In 『2014 Gender Budget Statement』, the criteria for selecting projects was modified to include additional projects, thus expanding the scope of analysis on the impact of gender equality. ‘Government projects that can be analyzed with gender aware beneficiary assessment and subsequently deemed to have potential in reducing gender inequality are given priority in the selection process’ criteria was added.
    • 『Fiscal Year 2012 Gender-Sensitive Statement of Accounts』 has been drawn up and submitted to the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea
    2012 Implementation Progress
    • 『2013 Gender Budget Statement』, 『2013 Gender-Sensitive Fund Operating Plan』 have been drawn up for 275 projects of 34 agencies and submitted to the National Assembly
    • 『2011 Gender Budget Balance Sheet』 has been drawn up and submitted to the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea
    2011 Implementation Progress
    • 『2012 Gender Budget Statement』 has been drafted for 254 projects of 34 agencies and submitted to the National Assembly.
    • 『2012 Gender Budget Statement』 included 92 projects out of a total of 110 projects listed in the 2010 Gender Impact Assessment, which provided a basis for future ties between the Gender Budget Statement and Gender Impact Assessment.
    • 『2010 Gender Budget Balance Sheet』 has been drafted and submitted to the Board of Audit and Inspection.
    2010 Implementation Progress
    • The program funds will be included in the gender budget statement from 2011 fiscal year. The amendment law on local finance states that it is required to include desired effects in gender equality, gender benefit analysis and outcome objectives.
    • 『2011 Gender Budget Statement』 including 245 programs from 34 government agencies has been prepared and submitted to the National Assembly.
    • The pilot program preparing 『2010 Gender Budget Balance Sheet』 has been conducted. The programs includes 63 programs from five government agencies which were selected for the 『2010 Gender Budget Statement』.

    2009 Implementation Progress
    • 『2010 Gender Budget Statement』 including 195 programs from 29 government agencies has been prepared and submitted to the National Assembly.
    • A consulting team was formed at the GBRC to provide practical advice and gender perspective training to government officials.
    • Regarding 『2010 Gender Budget Statement』, there has been analysis, review, revision and suggestion on the submitted documents from each ministry. Gender Budget Team was formed in order to enhance system, discover good examples and review critical issues. The consulting team consists of 7 members including specialists in labor and welfare, along with 6 gender budget experts.
    2008 Implementation Progress
    • A demonstration project was conducted in order to prepare 『2009 Gender Budget Statement』. It includes 105 programs from 25 government agencies (52 gender equality program and 53 gender impact analysis).
    • The Task Force Team(T/F) was formed in order to implement gender budgeting system. It is co-chaired by the director of gender policy division from the Ministry of Gender Equality and the inspectorate of social budget from Ministry of Planning and Finance. Committee members consist of directors from each ministry and experts in the area. The core function of the T/F is to develop framework, operate trial projects, and prepare operational framework, system and trainings on gender budgeting.
    2007 Implementation Progress
    • The Korean Women’s Development Institute established the Gender Budget Research Center and started a three-year research project to set up institutional infrastructure for gender budgeting.
    2006 Implementation Progress
    • The Research Task Force on Gender Budget was organized within the special Committee on Budget and Accounts.
      In September, the legal basis for gender budgeting was prepared through the passage to the National Finance Act.
      This includes articles relating to gender budgeting in the National Assembly. According to the Act, the submission of the gender budgeting statement and balance sheet has become mandatory starting from the 2010 fiscal year.
    2005 Implementation Progress
    • The Ministry of Planning and Budgeting required the budget allocation to consider the gender impact analysis results on projects which gender impacts are significant according to the guidelines from the national budget allocation.
    2003 Implementation Progress
    • The Ministry of Planning and Budgeting included policy about the activation of women’s social participation through an increase in the budget for childcare in the guidelines from the national budget allocation.
    2002 Implementation Progress
    • KWAU submitted the Petition for the Preparation of the Gender Budget Policies to the National Assembly.
      Taking this opportunity, the Gender Equality and Family Committee of the National Assembly adopted the Resolution on Requirements for Gender Budget Allocation and Submission of Documents related to Women. It was passed during the plenary session of the National Assembly in November.

    1998 Implementation Progress
    • The Korean Women’s Association United (KWAU) annually began to analyze gender related budget issues.
      They submitted“The Alternative Budget” as a part of the gender budgeting movement.
